Tui Shou 推手 is often translated simply as “pushing hands”, but reducing it to the practice of “pushing hands” means only grasping its most evident aspect.

In Taijiquan, and in particular in the Yang style tradition, Tui Shou represents a fundamental field of study: a space in which the principles learned through the form can be explored in relationships with others, verified and progressively refined.

At the heart of this work are the four fundamental energies—Peng 掤, Lü 捋, Ji 挤, and An 按—not simply as techniques to be applied, but as qualities to be understood through the body, listening, and experience.

It is precisely by continually returning to the fundamental principles that the practice can gain depth.

The most interesting skills in Taijiquan, in fact, don't necessarily arise from the accumulation of increasingly advanced programs or techniques. Rather, they often emerge from an increasingly subtle understanding of the essentials: structure, connection, listening, transformation of force, and the quality of intention.

During the seminar, we will alternate moments of theoretical exploration with practice with a partner, complementing them with various individual work methodologies. This latter aspect will play an important role throughout the day: the goal is to provide tools to continue exploring and refining the principles studied in your own daily practice.

It will therefore be a day aimed at Taijiquan practitioners who wish to go beyond the external execution of the movement and delve deeper into those mechanisms that, over time, make the practice more conscious, integrated and effective.

Not so much adding something to your practice, but learning to see more deeply what is already within it.

To ensure the quality of the work, the opportunity to provide individual guidance to participants, and the time needed for exploration with a partner, the day will be held in a small, closed group.

Reservations are therefore required, and registration will close once the maximum number of participants has been reached.
